The Uyuni Salt Flat is an incredible and fascinating destination that should be on your bucket list.
You would visit it twice because you will have very different experiences, in the dry season and rainy season.
For example, traveling in the dry season, from April to November, where you will be able to move without difficulty through one of the largest and highest salt deserts in the world, you will also appreciate the salt mounds extracted along the way and visit the Incahuasi Island.
Furthermore, to enjoying the whiteness of the salt, you will be able to get funny pictures playing with optical effects and perspective. We recommend you to go with many ideas, toys, and all the patience in the world to get the best pictures, suddenly they will not come out at first, but you have to keep trying.
A tip for the cold ones, from April to May, October, November, and part of December, are the best months to visit the salt flat because the cold is not extreme. From June to September is the cold season, and the temperature usually drops to -13 °C.
On the other hand, if you intend to see the flooded salt flat and have the feeling of walking on clouds, we recommend visiting Uyuni during the rainy season, from December to March. The best months to see it are between the end of January, February and the beginning of March, “WATCH OUT” it all depends on how much rain there is in that season because it is not always the same.
