1- TIME ZONE

The standard time in Argentina is UTC-3. Unlike other countries, Argentina does not use summertime.

2- ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR ARGENTINA

No tourist visa is required: Entry to Argentina is basically free, and residents of most countries in America and Western Europe do not require a tourist visa to enter. The travelers can travel for a maximum of approximately 90 days.

Documents required to travel to Argentina are:

Passport with a minimum validity of six months after the expected date of arrival to Colombia.
Citizens of Brazil, Bolivia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador and Colombia may enter with their national identity card or passport.

Entry requirements for Argentina

Argentina is open to all fully vaccinated passengers presenting the vaccination certificate and a negative PCR test up to 72 hours prior to boarding the flight.
Children under 6 years of age may present a health certificate issued no later than 72 hours prior to boarding.
Unvaccinated passengers arriving or who have been in the last 14 days in the African continent are not allowed to enter the country.

Vaccinated passengers who have been in the African continent will be subject to quarantine.

4- WEATHER

The climate of Argentina is very diverse due to its large surface area, the climates of Argentina are:

Warm: It occurs in the north and northeast of the country. In this region, two varieties are distinguished; the subtropical climate without dry season (Buenos Aires, Misiones, and Corriente) where the average temperatures range between 27ºC in January, the hottest month, and 14ºC in July, the coldest month and with the dry season (Tucumán and Santa Fé).

Mild: The annual average temperature is around 15 °C in destinations such as Rosario, Río Cuarto or Bahía Blanca.

Arid: The arid climate is present in cities such as San Juan, Mendoza, or Villa Mercedes. In summer, maximum temperatures can exceed 35ºC, while in winters they can drop to several degrees below zero. Despite being areas that stand out for the abundant hours of sunshine they receive, nights can be very cold.

Cold: The cold humid climate is found in the Patagonian Andes while the windy arid climate in Patagonia is characterized by extremely low temperatures, almost no rainfall during the year, and a very cold climate.

5- ELECTRICITY

The electricity supply in Argentina is 220 volts and its frequency is 50 hertz.

6- EXONERATION FROM GENERAL SALES TAX

Foreign tourists will be exempted from paying IGV for lodging services, which is equivalent to 21% if they stay less than 60 days in the country (or if they do not exceed 90 days per year).
To be exempted, you must present your passport or identification card as well as the Andean Migration Card with the stamp corresponding to your day of entry into the country when you check-in at the hotel.

7- CURRENCY
– Currency: The Peso Argentino ($) is the official currency of Argentina.

CURRENCY EXCHANGE

Many (but not all) banks exchange money; in the main cities and border regions there are usually several exchange offices. It is not advisable to exchange currency on the street.

8- TIPPING

In Argentina, tipping is not mandatory and will depend on how satisfied you are with the service received. The amount to leave may vary according to the circumstances.
In restaurants it is customary to leave 10%.
